First off, the practical matters: this is the blueprint off of which many of my D&D and similar tabletop games have been built off of. This is not to say that this is the definitive edition, though, nor do details that appear here necessarily appear in those worlds. For simplicity's sake, I've put both the worlds together in one, since they were pretty much solely identified as continents, and those there was no reason they couldn't exist on the same world. The name of the world is, for right now, a bastardization of the two continent names (Ketheria and Lareth), and yes, I'm aware of a potential issue existing in the similarity of names - the names weren't initially intended to co-exist. So likely, one will eventually change. We'll see which in the future. And with that out of the way:   Ketheria and Lareth are two continents set in a greater world, but are the focus of where much of note happens. Historically, Ketheria has been a more busy continent, with several civilization-changing wars, from the Skyfire, to the Demon War, then the Golem War, and then the Serpentfolk War. Whereas Lareth has had fewer large-scale wars, but suffered from two Sunderings; a Greater Sundering approximately five millenia in the past, and a Lesser Sundering a century in the past of a much smaller scale.   Ketheria is made up of two primary nations, and a handful of smaller entities that make up the power structure of the continent: There is the Six Holy Kingdoms under the Western Holy Emperor that take up the western wing of the continent, and then there is the Crosslands Kingdom which exists in the central portion of the continent. To the south is the Great Arengian Swamp, inhabited almost exclusively by the lizard/serpent folk (and to a much lesser extent, dragonkin), and the Eastern wing of the continent consists pretty much exclusively of the Pirate Isles, the Great Salt Wastes, and the city/jungle called Paradise, the last two being inhabited by Waste Dwarves.   Lareth, by contrast, is made up of 10 distinctly separate political/social entities:   Sinaran, the country led by an Aasimar family, dedicating to order and proper justice. Srinshee, the county of a theocracy, where the rule is obeisance and knowing your place/ High Lareth, the oldest country and the most metropolitan by far. Karthia, the country of the Dragon kin and their ilk, magiocracy. Island Kingdoms of Velar, ambitious, eager country, hungry for more. Akmenos, the country of craftspeople of all kinds and ideologies. Berilan, the country of nomads and herders, always travelling, never resting long. Immeril, the country of the High Elves, the sky worshippers, and the country with the deepest bank of knowledge known to the world. The Moth Shore, a restless, leaderless land of a thousand petty baronies and marches. And lastly, the Wildlands, a formerly banned area that only recently was discovered to either be no longer cursed, or never was in the first place.   Racially, the two are not very dissimilar, barring one aspect: Aasimar and Tiefling folk are nearly unheard of in Ketheria, and are two of the more common folks in Lareth, second only to humankind. Outside of that, what appears in one, appears in some degree within the other.
