The refugee Ethil Garian has found new lands, called Arkuth by the people who inhabit them. Her flight and crossing of the great ocean, once thought to span the world, would lead to the most catastrophic collisions between two hemispheres; millions would die, and the world would be forever changed.   The Garian Exchange, as it would come to be known, would spread a plague across the globe, destroying entire cities and civilizations and bringing the rest to their knees. Some countries would collapse in on themselves, others would be torn apart by pressures from without, and others still would seclude in hopes of riding out the disaster.   A once thriving, beautiful world filled with hope and prosperity, would be turned on its head in an instant, and in its place, chaos was sewn, and no man could escape its grasping tendrils.
