The Order of the Griffin
The Knights of the Order of the Griffin are the most single most powerful order of knights in Stormwind. Their ability to fight on the back of Griffins has lead to more military victories than any other order of knights. It is said that the only larger contribution to Stromwinds military might is the Legendary Knight Argusius himself.
Used primarily as a shock cavalry the griffin knights are trained to dismount and remount intense combat situations allowing them to be incredibly mobile only really surpassed by the teleportation magic of higher end magi.
Culture
The Order of the Griffin were the last order of knights created under the rule of Darnath II, following his assault upon the Asheq and the theft of the Sky Ship; Strom'Kars Fury. The Knights of the Griffin were designed to protect the Sky ships and so they work very closely with the Captains of these great vessels, often training in dive formations and protective maneuverers. The Griffin Knights embody the nature of the skies and the storm they are a group dedicated to severing the kingdom and the royal family.

Stormback Griffins
The knights of the Griffin have one major asset which their name implies. The Griffins they ride upon, these Griffins known as Stormback Griffins are birthed and raised in a several Erie's the Order owns around the Kingdom, most notable is Griffin Heights. The Stormback Griffins are more aggressive than other breeds but also slightly larger, bred for war they are on average 9 feet Long with a wingspan of 30 feet, they average around 700 lbs. The Griffin Riders often tell how their precious companions smell of an odd vanilla scent, which is most likely due to their bathing habits where the adult males search out vanilla pods and place them in hot springs for their mates to bathe in.Lances
The Order of the Griffin has access to many specialist items and weapons chief among them is the wide variety of lances the Order utilises in their sky strikes.Hurricane Lance
The Hurricane Lance is a 12 foot long lance made of platinum and silver, its point is inlaid with small opals that have been hollowed out. The Hurricane lances primary function is to release an enchantment when the rider commands, this triggers a large gust of wind which should knock off any sky combatant from their mount. Some other Lances are given a secondary enchantment, these are usually reserved for higher ranking members or those who have distinguished themselves in the line of duty. These lances allow the riders to teleport with their mount to perform fast strikes on multiple opponents, watching these in actions can disorientating especially when an entire squadron is blinking around the battlefield impaling foes leaving entire squadrons of bat riders dropping form the sky like flies.Dragon Lance
The Dragon Lance is a very rare lance that the order has access to, there are rumoured to be only 8 of these in the orders possession but none know the true number except for the Knight Commander of the order. The Dragon Lances as the name suggests are capable of unleashing the wrath of a dragon on the battle field, unleashing breaths of flame, lightning, poison, acid, ice and holy radiant energy.Gun Lance
A modern development made by the engineers of the newly formed Regime, the gun lance is a theoretical armament that allows for black powder and magic to be intertwined into devastating destructive blows. the Gun Lance in theory allows the rider to attack head on large beasts and inject an explosive shell into its flesh where the detonation can bypass any touch unbreachable hide or scale. The weapon is currently only a prototype though it may be field tested soon and should the test be deemed a success the Regime will be very busy and very wealthy.
