Personal history

Midnight was once the personal mount of Medivh the guardian. Medivh met Midnight when he was travelling the planes many many years ago. Midnight was drinking from a mountain spring overlooking the fields of Elysium when Medivh popped into existence startling the proud pegasus. Embarrassed by his startle Midnight froze until Medivh hand out-stretched offered an apple from his orchard. Midnight ate this apple and for many years Medivh would come to visit Midnight giving him gifts and combing his mane. The bond they formed as friends lasts in Midnights heart to this day, and this bond is what lead Midnight to come with Medivh to the material plane and serve as his steed.
Sadly when Medivh was banished by Strahd he was broken by the vampire. Strahd disgusted by this pure-hearted beast stripped Midnight of his wings and filled his heart with rage, twisting the once noble Pegasus into a Nightmare of its former self. However, there is hope as Midnights soul has a spark of the good left within it protected by the love that he and Medivh shared for each other. Midnight fights to return to his former self and has recently sworn to serve a priest of Uriel, the only tie to his former life Midnight has met in many many years.
