Celestirion
Celestirion is the most privileged creature on the planet Astoria. Naturally this means that they are also chained.
Celestirion is Astoria's most prized companion. He was her very first creation that could provide companionship. He is nearly as old as Astoria herself, and is riddled with broken memories.
Celestirion is a blueprint of sorts.
Astoria, the dragon core of the planet, is mad. She rages at her situation, angry at her mother Euphraxia for her placement in the solar system. She bemoans her inability to create life the way her sister cores can. Her rage always fades with time, and the next cycle of her madness begins. Bolstered by a manic energy, and determined to prove to herself that she is just as great as her sisters.
As the blinding rage wanes Astoria watches. She frequently uses her avatar to watch her creations and take notes. At first she is inspired. Then she starts to see problems with the current generation of seraphiron. Her madness finds only the evil in her creations. She thinks she is an evil creature and by extension starts to see the seraphiron that way.
Astoria's next task is to find Celestirion. After all, she must save him from the coming destruction. He is her living blueprint. She pulls him from his life and begins the task of reforging him.
Celestirion is so weary. This has been an endless cycle for his entire seemingly endless life. Typically the seraphiron wear down over time and return to the magma sea. Celestirion is constantly repaired and re-infused with life magic by Astoria herself. A reforging can take anywhere from days to years. Each wears away at his sense of self. While his physical form is always renewed and in perfect condition, the mind begins to crumble. Astoria will assign him a different gender frequently. This is completely unnecessary as seraphiron are forged, not born. She will also plant personality traits as an experiment. As a result Celestirion is quite erratic.
Astoria is not a very...pleasant companion at times. She will often oscillate between berating Celestirion for failing his people to praising him for teaching change and actively trying to reforge them. He does not speak directly to her often. There really isn't much of a point. How do you converse with a being that is quite literally the very land you live on?
So Celestirion waits. Astoria will remake him and forge a new generation of seraphiron. When she is complete, she deposits them back on the island of Seraphina. After her efforts, she is depleted and requires time to renew herself. Celestirion slips away and joins his new people. He teaches them the basics of metalworking. He praises growth and creation. Every time he desperately hopes that this time he will succeed at forging Astoria's perfect seraphiron.
One day. Maybe his mind will break first.
That would be a blessing.
