A balanced world needs somebody to maintain that balance. The gods of this world have decided that the Keepers will do the job. Each of them maintains the balance of an idea or element, and their servant passes their task to the next person when they're no longer able. It's a time-honored tradition to be a servant, known as a hunter.   Taja serves her Keeper with the utmost loyalty, but a power-hungry king is out to seize them both. Her Keeper sends her away with a command to stay safe and strong and a promise that she will return. She must battle her past, present, and future to ensure her safety and the safety of the world around her.   Sapphire no longer believes in the power of the Keepers. Though her family raised her to follow them and become a hunter, she felt turned away and lost her faith. When she became of age, she ran away to become a citizen within the kingdom. She serves the king, and she believes the destruction of Taja's world will be for the better.   They share a past, and their worlds will collide once again. Each of them must decide exactly what their fate is, knowing that their choice will affect the future forever.
