Runetech

Runetech is a mysterious technology that was discovered by I.M.P.S when they were exploring the lost Library of Akumasu. It involves magic, vines, and stones- all rather natural materials compared to human circuitry. Some of the tech's secrets are yet to be fully understood, but if it is deemed safe enough it may become a staple technology in Kathrir.

Utility

Runetech was used as a magic core of sorts. Runestones were installed as power sources and could be 'programmed' to cast the spells that are inscribed on it, as well as provide energy for the rest of the tech. In addition to the programming, some runestones can allow carvings that let the crafter control them as long as they are within range of the stone. This connection can be carried across multiple stones to increase the range. As for misuses, if a rune sigil is carved even slightly wrong, it could result in a completely different spell or not work at all. This is the main reason why I.M.P.S is keeping most public information about the runes secret.

Manufacturing

Runestones seem to be made of a red stone found pretty far down in the earth (Past even the deepest mana currents) and was used by gently carving intricate runes and sigils into the rock's surface and infusing it with magic. Some were made with the crafter's mana, while some more ambitious folk dipped theirs into the Mana Currents to charge obtain a strong magical charge. These Runestones were paired with special vines that had the same sigils carved into their leaves. Anything with the same sigils can be connected to form larger pieces of machinery.

Inventor(s)
The exact inventor is currently unknown, but they must have had connections to the Library of Akumasu because Runetech hasn't been found anywhere else yet.
Access & Availability
Runetech is extremely limited in use, due to it's secrets not being fully understood.
Discovery
The first parts of Runetech were found by I.M.P.S scouts and were hidden amongst the rubble of the Library of Akumasu. The scouts brought the runes back to their HQ where their true use was revealed.
