Sylvan Elves - "Sy'Tel'Quessir"

Sy-tel-quessir, or sylvan elves, were either considered as one race, two cultures of one race, or two separate races:   Wood Elf Wood elves, also known as copper elves, or Or'Tel'Quessir are the most populous of the elven races. Wood elves see themselves as guardians of the Tel'Quessir forest homes that are largely abandoned after the Crown Wars and before the Retreat, but unlike most elves they do not view themselves as a people apart from the rest of Faerûn.   Wild Elf Wild elves or green elves, also known as Sy'Tel'Quessir or grugach, are a feral, stealthy subrace of elves that became more and more reclusive over the years. As of the 1370s DR, they are an extremely insular race who remain close to nature and are rarely seen by other races. They have a heavier build and darker skin than other elf subraces despite having a similar average height.   Drow Drow (pronounced: /draʊ/ drow or: /droʊ/ dro), also known as dark elves, deep elves, night elves, or sometimes "The Ones Who Went Below" on the surface, and the Dark Ones among orcs, were a dark-skinned sub-race of elves that predominantly live in the Underdark. They are hated and feared due to their cruelty, though some non-evil and an even smaller number of good drow exist.   Aquatic Elves Aquatic elves (also called sea elves and Alu'Tel'Quessir in their own tongue) are water-breathing cousins to land-dwelling elves.   Avariel The avariel (Aril'Tel'Quessir, or "winged folk", in Elven) were among the first of the elf races to migrate to Faerûn. However, conflict with dragons almost wiped them out before the First Flowering and while they survived since that time, they were considered by most to be myths or legends.   Lythari Lythari (originally Ly'Tel'Quessir) are good-aligned elven lycanthropic wolves, similar in appearance to werewolves and often mistaken as such. Lythari differ from werewolves in that they have no hybrid form and are friendly and companionable when in lupine form. Although much less numerous than werewolves, a lot of Lythari are sponsored by the church of Selûne.   Tiger Elves Long ago there lived a tribe in the deepest, darkest parts of the High Forest, not far from the Sword Coast, and along the Spine of the World. They were unlike any tribe seen before. If you were to enter their tribe's forest, you probably wouldn't even know they were there...until it was too late. They are called Tiger Elves, or Taure'Quessir, they have the ability to blend into their surroundings in the forms of different animals. With the ability to blend into their surroundings, through a form of shapeshifting, you would be unaware of entering their forest...until it was too late.     Half-Elves Half-elves (also called Cha'Tel'Quessir in elven) are humanoids born through the union of an elf and a human. Whether a half-elf is raised by their human parent or their elven parent, they often feel isolated and alone. Because they take around twenty years to reach adulthood, they mature quickly when raised by elves (who think they look like humans), making them feel like an outsider in either place.   Most half-elves are descended from moon elves. Pairings of elves and other races also existed, though they are rare.
