Grodd goblins are a subrace of goblins that were trapped in the Grodd demiplane with Nalavarauthatoryl. Due to the demiplane's close proximity to the Plane of Shadow, the Grodd goblins developed abilities that allowed them to not be harmed by the touch of shadows.
Grodd goblins speak a corrupted form of "Ancient Elven".
