Eladrin

The term "eladrin" referrs to a family of fey races or to specific races or subraces in that larger family. The larger family of eladrin include:
  •  Fey eladrin, elven inhabitants of the Feywild,
  •  High Elves, or "common" eladrin, (More on High Elves later)
  •  Noble eladrin, powerful elf-like fey, and
  •  Celestial eladrin, a race of elf-like celestials.
Fey Eladrin The fey eladrin are the most powerful of the eladrin, a subrace of elves who adopted the Feywild as their home. After centuries of exposure to that plane's magic, they acquired supernatural abilities not seen on most of their kin from the Prime Material plane and were effectively transformed into fey. Sometimes called noble eladrin, they are capable of changing their physical appearance and powers according to their mood, assuming characteristics of the seasons.   Noble Eladrin "Noble eladrin" was a term used, specifically between the Spellplague and the Second Sundering, to refer to a subcategory of eladrin of particularly powerful magic or nobility. The phrase did not have a precise meaning and included a wide variety of races and individuals.   Some noble eladrin were high elves living in the Feywild who had become so infused with the power of that place as to become entirely new creatures, taking on aspects of the seasons and other natural phenomena.     Celestial Eladrin Celestial eladrin (plural either "eladrin" or "eladrins") are fey celestials native to Arborea, primarily in Arvandor, although their faerie court is located in the Gates of the Moon.   Unlike the celestials of other planes, the eladrin did not serve the gods in dominion of the planes; rather, they were allies. One exception to this was the god Shevarash, who had ghaele eladrin in his service.
