Karnath

Guilelessly adrift among an endless multiverse of worlds, Karnath is connected to, as all things that are real are, the Roil. However, it is one of the few to have been breached by this infinite void, its power manifesting in crystals referred to as Megyno by the natives. The first civilization who truly learned to make use of this power has been long dead and since, many have fought for the right to replace it.   In a dark age of war and chaos, the many nations and peoples of this world battle to fill the power vacuum left by these ancient beings as they attempt in vain to rebuild the scarred earth they left behind. Mysterious deities patron champions to do their bidding and cyclically fight with each other in an endless loop while the few regions of peace have not so peacefully maintained their order through strict regulation and suppression of dissent.   Meanwhile, a darkness from ages past brews in the barren wastes and deserts that remain as a testament to that past's destructive power, eager to consume the rest of the world for a multitude of sakes.   Though this world may look hopeless, elves still fearlessly repopulate their groves with unending verdor, the Seers, Fallen and Sphinxes maintain records of technologies and knowledge from long ago, and men fight with courage against that which would threaten their homes. Believe in these people, for the gods, angels, demons and saviors have forsaken them, yet they carry on.
