Classical Studies Salon

The Classical Studies Saloon is a mainly literature, linguistics and mathematically focused Salon, valuing what they call the “Pure pursuits of the mind” over what they consider base and earthly studies, like engineering or alchemy. The one subject which can be considered practical which they do study is that of magic, though they insist that this is accepted because of how it distills pure thought into reality. Even amongst quite a few members, this argument is not accepted and the Salon’s discussions often devolve into arguments over whether magic is pure or not.
Their main rival is the Practical College Salon, in which material subjects are discussed in practical terms, something members of the Classical Studies Salon considers beneath them.
