The Crusade began a slow and careful march of towards Twelve-Tower City, but the Crimson Flame Amber dreaded the idea of fighting them in the mountains, so he tried to lure them to leave their city, and began to pillage the villages, farmsteads and other territories in the lowlands that adhered to them, but, for two months, they did nothing.   Spies in Twelve-Tower city informed Amber that the people were rioting, that there was no food, and that they could just go there and take it. Seeing that some of the men wanted to simply abandon the Crusade, Amber decided to quickly go there and take it, especially with some of the recently decomissioned sky-ships they had stolen from the Northen Cities during the Siege of Numbreon.   As they approached, cannon fire rang through the mountains, raining lead towards the Crusaders: it was a trap, their spies betrayed them. Clerics and Priests provided assistance and protection that day, and soon enough, Crusaders were using wrecks of sky-ships are cover from the artillery and cannon fire.   Taumathurge-Steam met with Divine Wrath that first day, and the siege began, with fights breaking out in the walls, the inner sections when Crusader-ships broke into the city, and even in the underground, when Crusaders began sapping close to the walls, and getting into the under-tunnels of the city.   However, it was in this time that the newly-crowned Prince of Theban ordered the execution of all diplomats and priests loyal to the Crimson territories, as well as a unification of all the Valley Princes to "repel the invaders". So, for the moment, the Crusaders had to focus on taking this city, and later on would deal with the princes.
