Lizard-like Dragon
These curious creatures live in the pleasant swamps of [ unnamed world ] and climb around the branches of trees to eat bugs. The lizard-like dragons also sleep in the tree branches come night time.
Basic Information
Anatomy
These lizard-like dragons are wingless, and they each have four legs and a long tail. Their front legs are very short, but their hind legs are much longer and extend upward before bending back down at the knees, similar to those of a frog. Their heads are adorned with little flowers and things which grow out of their skin, and their eyes are small and yellow and have small slit pupils.
Growth Rate & Stages
Once an egg is laid ( a dragon typically lays 2-4 eggs at a time ) it usually hatches about 10 weeks later. The babies are fed by their mothers and fathers, and begin hunting with their parents about 6 weeks after they're born. Once a dragon is fully developed and independent - when they're about a year old - he or she will leave their family and seek out a mate.
Ecology and Habitats
The dragons like to live in swamp-like areas. They appreciate both the wet areas and the trees, and the bugs that live in the swamps are much to their liking.
Dietary Needs and Habits
These dragons are mainly carnivorous and eat bugs such as flies, ants, and spiders, but they will sometimes also eat small fruits such as berries, usually if they're having difficulty finding other food.
