Elyaz
These creatures are humanoids with fox-like ears. They live in forests and are friendly, playful people.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Elyaz are humanoids with human faces, and furry fox-like ears on top of their heads. The bottom half of their legs are furry and their feet are replaced by two paws. Their eyes are slit vertically like those of a fox.
Growth Rate & Stages
After an Elyaz is born, s/he is very fragile and small, and usually takes about 9 months to begin crawling, and usually begin walking at about 18 months. They generally learn to bark, growl, and yelp around 12 months, and they usually learn to speak around 15 months old.
Ecology and Habitats
The Elyaz are nomads who spend most of their time in forests, wandering about from place to place. They usually sleep up in trees, and they often craft small baskets or nests using a combination of leaves and magic, to protect their young at night.
Dietary Needs and Habits
The Elyaz hunt in the forests for things like rabbits and birds (such as quail and pheasant), as well as many fruits (such as berries, and many fruits found in trees). The Elyaz cook meats before eating them, and often use fur and feathers from their prey to create things like arrows and other tools.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Their hearing is incredible, being able to hear movement underground, and even hear a watch ticking from 40 yards away. Their eyesight is similar to that of a human, and they can see very well in the dark. They can also use earth-based magic, but that's something I haven't developed yet. In addition to speaking, they can also communicate to each other and to foxes through barking, yelping, and growling.
