Pirate Lords

Structure

The Pirate Lords are composed of the nine most fearsome, deadly, and rich pirates currently sailing the Dread Sea. Most Pirate Lords are chosen upon a previous Lords death, how they die usually doesn't matter. The Pirate Lords all hold a rank equal to the others except for the ninth, the wildcard or Pirate King. This is the one pirate all other pirates fear the most, it is he that convenes the Lordsmeets and settles disputes and ties of votes.   Each Pirate Lord usually claims a section of the Dread Sea, to which they make their domain and usually set up a free pirate port. Most pirates operating long term in a section of the Dread Sea would do well to pay tribute to its master or be viewed as a threat to the Lords position.

Known Pirate Lords

Captain Tusktooth (Troll) - Captain Tusktooth is the Captain of the Black TuskNehkaran Warship. He is known for his relentless pursuit of prey and enjoys the thrill of the hunt. He is a master fighter and duelist, carrying the weapons of his greatest defeated foes. One trumps all else though, the skull of Reidal Thickskull, the Nord Pirate Lord before him who cost him one of his tusks. Captain Tusktooth commands the areas around Nekara.   Captain Ashmark (Dratheri - Fire) - Capitan Ashmark commands his personal Dratheri frigate the Ashmaker. Capitan Ashmark served in the Royal Dreadfire Companies Navy for many years before leaving to make his fortunes. His ship became known for its speed and efficiency, turning ships to ash before reinforcements could arrive. He rules over his port of Ashmark and spends most of his time there. He rules over the surrounding area.   Blackbeard (Unknown) - Blackbeard is known as the ninth Pirate Lord, the King. He commands his legendarily feared vessel, The Hellfire's Revenge. Little factual knowledge of Blackbeard is known, stories range from possible to impossible depending on who you ask. Whether you believe the tales or not, Blackbeard is feared by all men, and if you were to see the hellish flaming ship aiming for you, know that the end is near...

Public Agenda

The Pirate Lords as a whole do not usually have one common goal besides the defense of piracy as a whole. As a group each Lord is left to his or her own devices so the agenda of each Lords often varies greatly. One can be assured that it serves a selfish and greedy need.

Assets

When combined, the full power of the Pirate Lords fleets, along with all the wealth and manpower that go with the Lords.

History

The Pirate Lords were formed do to the Nehkaran Empire's efforts to stomp out pirates from the Dread Sea. Captain Bargan, an escaped Druchi slave turned pirate. Along with Captain Mortholamew, a former commander in the Dratheri Navy, joined forces to unite the pirates of the Southern Dread Sea. Under their rule, piracy as it is known today, has flourished and has not faced extinction since the height of the Nehkaran Empire.

When a pirate grows rich enough, they make him a lord.
