The Lamaloo

“Once upon a time in a small village in the desert there lived a young boy named Brent. Brent spent his days running through the village and playing with his friends. Brent loved to play a game with his friends where he would hide and all of them would try to find him. One day, Brent decided to hide in the market. His friends searched for hours, but couldn’t find him. Eventually, his friends gave up and returned home, but Brent was still hiding. As the sun began to set, the market started to close, but Brent kept hiding. Brent hid until the moon was far over his head. Brent then snuck out into the market and wandered around the village. He wandered until he made his way to the edge of the village. Brent looked out at the desert, barely illuminated by the moonlight. Brent looked back at the village before leaving and traveling into the desert. Brent roamed the desert until the sun rose and he realized that he was lost.

Months later, a group of boys were running around the edge of the village when they saw a figure on the horizon. They stopped playing their game and started walking towards the figure. As they approached, they noticed that the figure was shambling towards them wearing tattered clothing. The boys ran towards the figure to help him, until they saw his face. They immediately recognized the figure as Brent, although he was different. He was gaunt, burned, and hungry, barely able to stand on his own. The boys stopped. Brent looked up to them, pleading for help. The boys shoved him and began to beat him. They pummeled him into the sand and left him for dead before returning to the village. That night, the boys all heard a scratching noise outside of their homes. When they looked outside, however, they saw nothing. The next night, the same thing happened, except some of the boys claimed to have seen a gaunt, shambling figure with massive horns and claws creeping through the village. On the third night, the boys were terrified. They could barely sleep, so they all gathered in the center of the village. Shortly after meeting together, they heard the scratching again. Screams echoed throughout the village that night and the boys were never to be found. It is said that Brent came back to life as a demonic zombie and came back to kill the boys. Some people believe that Brent still wanders throughout the desert, seeking to punish children who harm and abandon other.“
