Technically the Magnus has power over all the people of Kalpurn and has control over the country's wealth. In reality, the Magnus can only leave the palace on official business. They also have access at any time to powerful mages, entertainers, or food. They will never want for entertainment within the palace. The palace also contains vast numbers of magic artifacts acquired by previous Magni that are also technically available to the Magnus.
