Oracles of Aacahin

This widely held faith is permeated into every aspect of the upper class life. The people believe in the Duel Oracles of Aacahin, giant brother gods who once lived among humans, and their 12 angels who gave magic to humanity. Have days of worship in their names; the Ritius festival during the summer solstice and the Remus festival during the winter solstice, and 12 other holidays throughout the year for each of the angels.
The gods and their angels were largely inscrutable; their consultation was best left to religious experts. Augury, haruspicy, oracles and the interpretation of omens and prodigies were used to seek the divine opinion and will through signs, and to explain their apparent wrath. Errors in ritual could provoke divine anger and vitiate the political process; elections could be rendered null and void, or treaties, war-plans and government business abandoned. As divine retribution was invoked in the lawful swearing of oaths and vows, oath-breakers forfeited their right to divine protection, and might be killed with impunity. The king holds many oracles as advisers.
  Morendra Diversion/Demonination:
The Morendi in the mountains believe that the Oracles where in fact the Guardians of magic and just aspects of the Life Force or Soul of the planet, called Anima. They also changed the names to Amatra and Amagus to reflect a more female-male ratio, and while their were no angels there were the children of the Guardians - Humanity being one.

Military

Aguara's success in war reflected the divine favour of the God Ritius in particular; triumphal generals would dress as Ritius, and parade through the streets. Before any campaign or battle, commanders would seek the gods' opinion regarding the likely outcome. Military success was achieved through a combination of personal and divine will: religious negligence provoked divine wrath and led to military disaster.
