Axehead (Axehead)

Axehead is a small hamlet in the middle of the south of Guywier, populated by around 150 people.

Demographics

Axehead is populated mostly by humans, on the lower class end. Most of them are doing jobs you'd expect for a small town like this; Animal Husbandry and crop farming are the most commonly found jobs here.

Government

Mayor O'Gush was placed as mayor of axehead as he happens to own the caravan that brings exports and imports into the area. He's a kind mayor, and has stated that when he dies he wants there to be a Democratic election for the next mayor.

Defences

Axehead can muster about 4 Guards who are a voluntary militia.

Industry & Trade

Axeheads main exports include butchered meats, lumber, and strawberries. All imports and exports come in through Mayor O'Gush's caravan.

Infrastructure

Due to axeheads relatively recent development, there isn't much in the way of Infrastructure.

Copper Dog Tavern/Inn

The Copper Dog Tavern is run by one Laura Wil, she's a lazy business owner, and gets most of her food supply from the Caravan that runs through town. Here you can buy relatively cheap food and drink. Things such as meat & potatoes are served here. She has one of the more consistently profitable businesses, due to the Alcohol sale.

Silver Dog General Store

The Silver Dog General Store is staffed by identical half-elven twins, one being Layor Tad'Rith, and the other being Jimsa Tad'Rith. Layor cares more about his job than Jimsa, and as such is usually seen as the face of the business, even if Jimsa's putting more work in behind the scenes.

Fireheart Spas

Run by one Hilda Num (human commoner), the Fireheart spas are a business constructed near the outside of a small lake in the forest. Using Pyromancy, Hilda heats up the spas as customers like them, and charges a gold per hour spent. Some people also use it as a place to get their laundry done, which she segregates into a separate section of the business.

Guilds and Factions

Farmers Union

Part of a larger south Guyweir based farmers guild, this union has been formed to evenly distribute the profits of all that join, as well as creating a fund for emergencies within the communities of those within the Guild. The fund is made up of the collected payments of the entry fee of 5 gold. So far, the Union can muster about 150 gold for emergencies.

Church Of Hythenas

As they are the ones in charge of getting the festival setup, the Church of Hythenas is seen as a secondary community leader next to Mayor O'Gush, human priest Yvet heals the injured with clerical magic, and holds weekly sermons in support of Hythenas.

Tourism

Axehead is usually unvisited for most of the year. The only time that they do get a fair amount of tourists is for the annual festival of Hythenas, god of light.

Architecture

Most structures here are simple wooden constructions, with thatched rooves still serving as common shingles to protect against rain.

Geography

The town is surrounded by thick woods, except for the parts that have been cleared away for caravans or for hiking trails.

Natural Resources

The city is surrounded by The Dunwood Oakes which is a forest that is strangely only oak trees. Supernaturally, it's been proven that even if you plant a sapling of another type of tree, it will grow into an oak tree.
