Proto-Hydra (Species)
Introduction
Proto-Hydras are the innitial form of the hydra evolution tree, and the one in which they hatch. Due to how and how skillfully much they hide beneath their swamp water, they are considered a rare species to find, and though their poison pales in comparison with the more evolved counterparts, it is still known to be quite efficient. Proto-hydras only possess one head, despite being related to hydras.
Appearance
Proto-hydras are a small lizard-like species with sharp needle-like teeth and strong, sharp claws. They also possess rather slender bodies and long necks.Average Stats

Culture and Common Traits
Being monsters, proto-hydras don't have much of a culture to speak of. They tend to hatch from eggs placed within swamps, and inhabit their swamp and its outskirts, hiding and hunting for any nearby small monsters. Their name, and sneaky tactics based on regeneration and poison make no secret that they are related to hydras, and thus share their instinctive distaste for beings with draconic traits, most of all dragons themselves. Proto-hydras most commonly evolve to bydras, on the way to evolving to hydras.
