Kahaani

A rapidly modernising world powered by energy harnessed from massive tears in the fabric of reality. These rifts, so to speak, have always existed. Great swaths of coloured light bursting from the sky like nebulas. When civilisation learned to harness the seemingly limitless energy pouring out from these rifts, the shift into a world now fuelled by exploration, science and innovation was rapid.   Skyships fueled by rift energy were now the mainstay of transport and travel, and thus massive cities were built atop mountains to facilitate their building and docking and travel. These skycities also became hubs of knowledge, with many of them housing great universities that carrry out research in a multitude of fields, ranging from medicine to archeology to arcane theory.   For magic exists in this world too. It seems to have taken a back seat, but those with the innate gift, or with the right minds to study it, still exist within the world.   Thus, we see a rapidly changing world, where both science and the arcane exist side by side. Potential exists everywhere. What you choose to make of it, however, remains to be seen.
