All that the inhabitants have to prove that this ancient world of high technology existed is the ruins and relics left behind from the time. Artifacts of great magic and wonder that can't be explained by even the wisest scholars. The people in this world were at some point in their past genetically engineered to have animal dna and traits during the super soldier projects of the wars. This is unknown to them however, as they have been born this way for generations beyond memory.
