Jurop

Jurop is the fantasy version of Europe. It bears the signs of stereotypes, heroes and historical figures mixed with fantasy elements, demons, gods and everything in between.   For thousands of years it has been settled by all kinds of races across vast landscapes. For most of its existence, it has been ruled over by 8 gods. Not the same gods, for these are not immortal higher beings. In fact they are very mortal. The only rule is that "special" individuals do control the flow of magic and life, using this to their own betterment. And if they die, another god emerges, most of the time the one who killed the previous god. But sometimes not!   These gods are almost physically tearing the land apart. They are the kings and the leaders who want to see their kind have the upper hand. And they are willing to put everything into it. As a result, most of the time, the land is in war and peril. Any weak spot of any empire gets nearly instantly used by the others and the empire ravaged, torn apart and divided into the other empires.   On the other hand, not all of these gods are evil or willing to do this. Some take pride in being good to their underlings and not exploitative. But these can get overwhelmed by the others.
