Neverwinter

Neverwinter is a major city in the northern Sword Coast in Faerûn. Despite its northern location, it is kept warm year round by fire elementals in the nearby volcano, Mount Hotenow.

Geography

Neverwinter is located along the High Road between Waterdeep and Luskan. To the east of the city is the Neverwinter Wood and, at its heart, the volcanic Mount Hotenow. The Neverwinter River flows from the volcano, through Neverwinter Wood and into the city.

Climate

The Neverwinter River is heated by fire elementals living under the volcano before flowing through the forest and the city. It carries its supernatural warmth with it, keeping the river and harbor from freezing up in winter and the gardens green year-round. The heat given off by the river creates a permanent warm climate in the immediate area.
