Varn Dolarr

Considered one of the oldest settlements, it is entirely occupied by Dwarves who mine for both precious and rare metals, along with making weapons and armors to be sold and circulated throughout Jotunheim

Demographics

The underground city of Varn Dolarr is composed entirely of Dwarves.

Government

Practicing a form of Democratic Monarchy, Varn Dolarr is ruled over by a single 'Jarl', who will often have inherited this position from their direct father. But this can also be taken, should the current Jarl's leadership come into question. In these cases, the highest officials will be made candidates and will be elected based on the amount of support the individual Dwarf receives from their peers.

Industry & Trade

Varn Dolarr has a long-standing trade agreement with the Firbolg settlement Maghi Dolsun, who have chosen Varn Dolarr as their sole trade partner. In exchange for pelts, hides, wood, charcoal, meats, and foodstuffs, the dwarves provide them with stone religious idols, tools, and weapons.     Varn Dolarr also maintains connections with Dreyla's second largest trading hub, Deldim Haggar. With its convenient access to Ivadoor via Odins Canal and its ability to accommodate trade ships passing through The Rift, it serves as a vital hub for both foreign and domestic resources while also serving as a bridge between numerous settlements in Dreyla. Despite this, however, the only exports Varn Dolarr is interested in are fire gems for their forges and alcohol from beyond the rift, as Goorsmead has blocked any importing of their staple liquors due to a long-standing feud. In exchange, Varn Dolarr offers metals, rare ores, weapons, armor, tools, nails, hinges, stone, Purple Worm hide/repellent, and stone.       Despite the apparent bias, the Dwarves of Varn Dolarr are shrewd merchants, and their demand for coin significantly influences trade between the two settlements. Aided by the Dwarves' isolationist mentality and their desire to remain as autonomous as possible, Deldim Haggar maintains sole trading rights with them (excluding Maghi Dolsun, of course), who then sells and trades the goods acquired from Varn Dolarr to turn its own profits. This results in highly favorable dealings for both parties, as one provides the means for the coin, while the other provides the coin itself.
