Thrúdheim
Description
They were known for their strange attire and weaponry, wearing no armor, and instead strange masks with red robes, emboldened with animated bronze eye on the chest. Additionally, instead of using traditional types of weaponry, they instead used odd Whip like Sword, and sickles attached to chains, along with all manner of odd magics.
History
Believed to have been founded in the year 1218DR, the Giant Slayers, simply known then as Thrúdheim, were as mysterious as they were deadly. They desired no gold, nor any rewards, and so many were hesitant to trust the newcomers. But after venturing to the continent, and returning with a Frost Giants head, worries were quickly dispelled, and empires clamored to contract them. All, however, were turned down. Instead, we’re simply asked for as many men as they could muster to aid the Thrúdheim in the claiming of the lands. Thus beginning the Great Giant War in 1219DR. And in 1222DR, just three years later, were triumphant.
After this victory however, they, somewhat mysteriously, waited an additional 2 years to reveal this victory in 1226DR. Some theorize this time was used to build the sanctum that was believed to serve as the headquarters of the Thrúdheim, and held their armories and libraries of knowledge. Others, however, dispute this claim, citing the sanctum would have been built either before or during the Giant War, as it would serve little purpose after.
Shortly after this announcement though, the group disappeared, taking their secrets with them. Leaving those claiming to be their descendants to lead the Thrúdheim, and begin training new generations as the aptly named, Giant Slayers.
