Fleeing their new colonial oppressors, many Etsuman from all walks of life fled West, settling in Kayemba and Arnak. With them they brought new customs, weapons, and resources, but attempted to retain a sense of neutrality.   However, the Tebtai were wary of outsiders, and pushed the new arrivals north, into Kayemba. Some Etsuman fought alongside the Kayemba on the battlefield.
