Treaty of the Contested Realm

Diplomatic action

987DR
22/7

After decades of bloody war, Arnak returned to propose a truce to the two warring nations. The Tebtai had been fighting with such fury for so long, they had almost forgotten what they were fighting for.

The truce gave Arnak the “Contested Realm” (Now East Arnak), an area between Kayemba and Tebtai, providing all three nations follow certain new clauses.   Kayemba were relieved for the war to finally be over, but the Tebtai rulers still had an axe to grind. - No worship of Chansa or Daruma (gods popular amongst the Kayemba and Etsuman), would be allowed in Arnak (The Tebtai mainly worship Charia).

  • No Half-Orcs or Tabaxi would be allowed within the newly built Tebtai Wall.
  • Slavery would be outlawed in all three nations.
  • Envoys from Tebtai and Arnak would visit one another’s cities, to ensure the new clauses were being followed.
  • With the war over, Tabaxi from the East began to settle in East Arnak, which gained a reputation as a tolerant melting pot, basking in the congratulations it earned from its role as a pacifier. Etsuman influence spread across Arnak, which is now a bizarre mix of its ancient past, and modern Etsuman influence.   Long now had the slaving past of Kayemba been forgotten, and the people resettled further North, with a new capital.
