After the heat death of the known universe and all planes of existence were left destroyed, a group of Eladrin—sheltered on the last fragments of Arborea the world tree—made a new home for themselves in this broken universe. 6,000 years pass, and other races—Humans, Vedalken, Dwarves, Gnomes, and the like—begin to appear out of seemingly thin air, much to the surprise of Elf-kin.

However, as the millennia wore on, the great Eladrin found themselves being displaced from their home, and they and their children, the High, Wood, and Dark Elves, all fled to their island home of Arborea. For nearly 9000 years, the mortal races warred amongst themselves, all while the Elves hid on their verdant isle of Arborea off the coast of the Land of Kings.   That all changed when the Dwarves unearthed an ancient artifact deep under their mountains. From it, Ancient Gods spilled forth and corrupted the race for a time, and lead to a period of 120 years of brutal death, environmental upheaval, and the fracturing of the Elven Race in its entirety. The elves, left a shadow of their former glory, ceeded sections of their now broken island home of Arborea to the Humans and many other races that poured out in search of a new home. They-seeing potential in a bright young King named Challemar- forged for him and his court Elven Runeblades by which their divine right to rule would be protected.   Now, in this year, The Free Legions are at war... this time, amoungst themselves. Their Southern Holds have turned against the North, and all over the world, petty squabbles broil over amoungst a thousand different kingdoms. And all the while... the ever-watchful eye of Chaos is afixed
