Jiaricco Plain

Juvenalian satire of entrenched power structures in general and patriarchy and gender politics in specific. The setting itself is based on the old west, vis-a-vis spaghetti westerns, with fantastical embellishments.   Witches are the human servants of devils; knights are the servants of patrons. Devils and patrons are collective deities who have been at war since time immemorial, and humans for the most part have sided with patrons. Also, any ruler with sufficient political power is a sovereign, which basically makes them a low-key deity.   Witches and knights each get a bundle of powers in exchange for their service, but I'll just hit the key points here. Witches spawn mindless, bestial demons. As long as they keep spawning demons, they're functionally immortal. Knights are superhuman athletes with command over ropes, chains, locks, and knots.   The story kicks off when a witch who's scheduled for execution convinces a knight to save her.   Story outline is about halfway done. I'm kinda keeping this on the back burner for now.
