Storm Hardening

History

The people of the Storm Region have had a tradition of resilience since their ancestors. Ensuring that the adults of their communities are strong enough to survive the harsh environment is one manifestation of this tradition.

Execution

The family members of the person will give components of the Storm wear to the mother who will construct it and the father will create the resin of the goggles. They will receive it on their birthday. They will then spend the next 2-3 weeks preparing and training in their gear. When they are ready they will be flown far away from their settlement and left to find the crystals that will power their glider. It is tradition for them to also bring back an item from a beast they killed during their search or something from another near-death experience. This will be integrated into their glider as a symbol of that individual. Once these are found, they will find their way home and assist in constructing their glider. They will then be considered an adult.
