Gresi

Millenia ago, before even the great pre-imperial wars, their was a simple village where the gods visited everyday and blessed the people. In this village, there was a young boy named Gresi, who was very weak; he could barely hold his own weight. One day, a band of monsters, with six horns, two gigantic eyes, four arms and four legs each, came to the village and attacked Gresi's house. They murdered his father and kidnapped his mother. Gresi escaped and ran to the goddess of protection and asked for her help, but by the time they got there the monsters were gone. Gresi begged the gods to save his mother, but they other things to do, they couldn't concern themselves with saving one mortal. The event filled Gresi with courage and he set off to hunt down the beasts and rescue his mother. He followed their tracks into the forest, but along the way he was attacked by forest animals. he ran away and hid in a hollow tree, where he waited to join his father. Then the goddess of protection appeared in front of him; she realised she had failed in her duties. She granted Gresi strength that would rival the god of war and promised she would let no harm come to him. Gresi entered the monsters' lair and slaughtered them all with his bare hands. He found that they had already killed his mother and he cried out in agony. Once again the goddess of protection appeared to him and promised she would protect the spirits of his parents. Gresi returned to the village and was named its hero.
