Convergence

Occasionally, every decade or so, the highest orbital point of Jíātakum and the lowest orbital point of Draseto align, and the two planets fill each others skies. This causes their magical auras to overlap with each other, doubling the concentration of magic on their surfaces. The inhabitants of Jíātakum have their abilities amplified to varying degrees.

Manifestation

Primarily, Draseto will take up most of the sky, cause a brass coloured light to fill the atmosphere due to the reflection of the Sun's light. The entire planet is affected, but the potency depends on the concentration of magic in the specific object as well as its position in The Universal Magical System. The Dragon Spirits are also affected which leads to more powerful and frequent weather effects. Inanimate objects are largely unaffected, while living things become vastly more powerful. This is because life force forms a massive concentration of magic. However, objects used under circumstances of extreme emotion, such as weapons, are often infused with the energy of the wielder. These objects are usually able to keep up with their owners during Convergence.
Convergence is a highly chaotic period of time that usually lasts about two days. it is very dangerous, due to the increased meteorological activity, but also because of the amplified abilities of living things. Predators become much more aggressive and all being tend to struggle with adapting to their new abilities; people rip out doors accidentally and injure themselves very easily.
In humans, all basic abilities are amplified five fold, i.e. lift five times as much, run five times faster, jump five times as high. They also have their greatest skills boosted ten fold, turning knights into demigods and letting blacksmiths create perfect weapons, etc. Predicting the affects of Convergence in various things is virtually impossible, due to the complexity of The Universal Magical System.
