Ja'aruuka is a place of ancient mystery and new magic. The kingdoms are in a state of almost perpetual war with few ever rising to empire building. Every nation at its base has a powerful wizard or sorcerer that has used his/her magic to cement their power. Many only have their own interests at heart but some do stand out and make a name for themselves in a good way. Across the landscapes one can find caverns full of wild untamed magics, ruins where those that have risen and fell in the past have buried their secrets, and many different types of beings.
