Bearvault

Bearvault is a city that was founded hundreds of years ago as the soon to be capital of the Kingdom of Hathia.

Defences

There are basic naval and docking security to protect against naval attacks into the city. There are large walls protected the inner parts of the city from inland attacks. There is a secondary set of walls blocking off the citadel from attacks, which is large enough to protect some citizens in dire circumstances.

Infrastructure

Bearvault has a citadel that was first built when the city was known as Brittvault in ancient times. The citadel is built at the far border of the city, as it was originally built a fair distance away from the port city of Brittvault. As the city expanded, the citadel's walls would eventually meet with the large walls built to protect the city from inland attacks. There are two major marketplaces in the city, with the larger being located at the head of Southtown. The smaller market is a place for artisans to sell their master works to visitors from all over Ivryia.

Districts

There are twelve districts in Bearvault. There are the initial four districts: Hauntedwell, Southtown, The Docks, and Salt Meadow. Then, as Brittvault expanded, the next three districts would come: Lord's Row, Northgate, and Eastgate. As time went on, the outskirts of the city would begin to be built: Winter Town, Two Crosses, The Heath, Charwall, and Narrowgate.

History

The city of Bearvault was once known as Brittvault, when it was founded hundreds of years ago as the burgening seat of power in the new Kingdom of Hatia. Over the years, as the city would expand, the name would slowly shift from Britt- to Bear-.

Points of interest

The docks, the Major Market, the Minor Market, and the Docks are the main points of interest in Bearvault.

Geography

The city is built on the coast, but on the southern edge of the walled section of the city, running through Charwall, The Heath, and Two Crosses is the Dimegroney River.
