The Dread Tower

Looming over the city is the world's tallest tower, the Dread Tower. It actually consists of a large keep with the tower rising high into the sky a thousand feet, an imposing obsidian monument to the vanity of the Wizard Lords.
It retained its name from the time of the Wizard Lords. It used to be where the Council met to discuss matters of national import. Its maze like halls are enchanted to make those who are lost become even more so until they end up walking into a room and finding they've walked right into a dungeon cell.
Despite its fearsome reputation and history, it serves as the location for the higher ranks of Arcanum students to pursue their studies, as well as the dwelling place of faculty.
