Acantha is a powerful wandering magician seeking revenge against Esmeralda. She met the group in Inn Way Too Deep, where she dispatched a group of ruffians bullying her and Bretna Graybelt.
She learned of the tattoo on Amelia's arm via the usage of some divination spell. Following some initial tension, both women settled on a makeshift alliance, where one would inform the other in case they came accross leads on the Obsidians.

Personal history

Acantha was a young prodigy, studying at the Moonshard Tower. Her promising career in the academy ended when she was expelled from the organization for breaking one of its rules: celibacy.
She was not too shaken by this fact and eventually settled with her lover near Rimerock, where she bore a child at the young age of 17.
Her happy life took a turn for the worse when the Obsidians attacked her home, killing her husband and whisking her daughter away. The leader of the raid, Esmeralda, kept Acantha alive, but not before torturing the mage, inflicting several dagger wounds on her belly and preventing her from ever bearing another child.
Acantha has spent the last two years tracking Esmeralda, eventually learning about the Obsidians and their structure in Nolzir. Her informant, a Salamander named Kameg was assassinated shortly after spilling the beans and Acantha found herself attacked in several different occasions.
She's now heading towards Avitoise, following a new lead on the organization.
