Life is an eternal struggle for existence, and existence a necessary right. The Enemies of man have sought to deny it, and so far all have failed. The world has withstood more enemies than it can remember, and yet it sits triumphant. These grand cosmological events are above the notice of most people's lives, as for most, getting the daily bread is enough of a struggle.   The prosperity and peace of the last age have begun to suffer more than frays at the edges. Teler, the Throne of Wisdom, invaded and destroyed one of the demon realms. The Long War ended not with a grand victory but an ongoing civil war. Further north, the High King of Serenir has invaded the Erastean Empire, shattering the fragile balance in the region. The ancient Empire of Haraan has always been a solid foundation combating whatever enemies seek to invade Itusa, yet a ruthless rule and decadent age of prosperity have led to a breakdown of unity. The Black Empire of Laedosia has not forgotten its breakaway states, nor they the fight for independence. Between the borders of the mighty realms, petty kings and lordlings vie for power. Never shirking from whatever means to victory they can get away with.   In the academy halls, on the factory floors, and in the army barracks, change has found purchase. Every soul needs to choose between the old and the new, tradition or progress, the fight for or against the legacy of Teler. Throughout the disparate lands of men, the winds of change have brought friction as well as opportunity. It is up to heroes and villains to shape this coming age, and through sword, cannon, and coin choose what the future holds.   Yet the visionaries of men are not the only ones to who ready for tomorrow. In this turbulent end of an age The Enemies also see an opportunity.
