Lytheria (Lie-thi-ria)
Lytheria is the ancient city-state of feline folk. The leonin and the Tabaxi love the warm sun and temperate air that come from the southwest of Easebith. The kingdom wasn’t the largest, but it was one of the nicest. At its peak, approximately 678 PN – 695 PN, the country was a beautiful, lush green year-round due to complex irrigation systems created by farmers to beat the notorious dry season. Proud, strong, and built on the ideals of the cat gods, Lytheria was a travel destination for many noble and peasant families alike, offering beaches, grassy fields, and high-quality seafood. Because of the amount of sand located in the beach nearby, glass blowers and smiths were well known and respected. Creating high art, stained glass, industrial and medical glass, and just about anything else that can be made from glass was exported out of Lytheria. Just in from the beaches are clay deposits, leading artists towards ceramics and sculpting as well.
In the last centuries of its life Lytheria experienced a decade of bad luck and natural disasters. Some of the citizens and military officers of the country were convinced they had been cursed; their current ruler had been in some scandalous relationships and questionable allies, and the unfortunate events must have been because of that. A torrential storm hit during the wet season, and it rained for seven months straight. It did not stop raining for even a second, and when the rains had finally stopped, an earthquake tore the capital in half. Two days later a several hundred-foot-tall tsunami crashed onto the kingdom, causing massive infrastructure, and building damage and heavily impacting the importing and exporting goods from the coast. The harbor had been destroyed, and the wave had destroyed homes and businesses as far as seven miles from the beach. In the next decade, a religious group following the lawful god Tyr appear at the gates to offer help. But once allowed in they simply finished the job the disasters had started. Lytheria officially fell in 997 PN, and the area has been since claimed by the Knights of Tyr.
Southwest Easebith
The climate of southwestern Easebith is sunny, hot, and for the most part dry. There are regular and reliable wet seasons once a year, but the rest of the time it is warm and enjoyable. Similar to a savannah or Serengeti, it consists of flat grasslands. So flat, that even an average human can see for miles around. Eventually the plains turn into a desert, getting dryer and dryer the further from the coast and closer inland. It is advised to travelers to be cautious, as the grasslands give the false sense of safety due to the plant life and seeming lack of monstrous creatures. But between desert dwelling creatures and purple worms living beneath the surface, this area is much more dangerous than originally thought, especially when combined with a dry season. Be sure to bring enough water and rations, and don't forget to stop by your local boutique to pick up desert clothing.
