Nyupe (NjupƐ)

Nyupe

Introduction

Nyupe (One of the main characters) is the sole host of The Divine Spirit her culture worshipped as their god. After an untimely death at seven years old, she was the youngest to die out of the rest of her group. Though she does age after her death, she remains the youngest Soldier at the age of thirteen --- two years younger than the second youngest team member, Mah Tico. She is then six years younger than the oldest, and her closest friend, Shen.   Nyupe has poor sight due to her albinism, specifically albinism OCA. Though she does contain some sight left, however poor, she completely lacks any sort of hearing, communicating through sign language and spoken languages. Her refusal to wear glasses however, may leave her somewhat blind in her later years.   Finally, Nyupe contains the power to create any weather related phenomena she sees fit. Hurricanes are her favorite. Despite her power being relatively tame in comparison to her teammates, her cooperation with Shen and Sebaigéan create an incredibly powerful force.

Personality -

Personality wise, Nyupe is incredibly extroverted and outgoing. She has little social anxiety and enjoys her time with other people. However, despite the look of confidence, cockiness, and self assurance she often shows, Nyupe is incredibly terrified that others will leave her and is very clingy and easily upset by those close to her. While she is most certainly mischievous (not at all above a lie or two to mess with the opposing party), her constant teasing and taunting of others can certainly put her in the middle of the same contentious situations she despises. Despite this, however, Nyupe rarely means to actually hurt those she cares for --- and when such a situation does arise, she's incredibly quick to apologise. Though, it's only with those close to her that she shows any sensitivity at all. She often attempts to put up a confident and brash image of herself around most people, not wanting others to know how deeply she cares for one person or fears another. Nyupe often refuses to have others see that they've hurt her, afraid that they'll think she's weak or a mere, pathetic child. As a result, she tends to act as if she isn't easily angered or upset by jokes others may find offensive, instead she prefers to laugh them off and fire back with her own insults. She's often quick-witted and a fast thinker, able to come up with clever and unique retorts to any jabs or mocking comments. Although, this brave and composed act isn't entirely a fraud. Nyupe knows that she is loved, and, much more importantly, that she can brutally smite anyone who dares to harm her. So while she is often concerned about if those close to her truly believe that she is strong and brave, she does know that she is fully able to make anyone's life a living hell if she so desires.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Nyupe is generally pretty fit for her age. She is overweight and of a heavier body type, yet is not unhealthy by any means. She has poor agility and flexibility, but moderate physical strength. She contains no physical or mental disabilities.

Body Features

She has countless freckles that cover the entire length of her body, accumulating mainly around her face, arms, and legs.

Facial Features

Nyupe has a very round, circular face with large, wide eyes and nose. She has a soft jawline and cheekbones, giving her the appearance of a much younger child, even in her early twenties. She also has thick, round, and upturned eyebrows -almost circular in shape-, and a generally wider facial structure as well.

Identifying Characteristics

Her pink hair and red eyes are usually quite noticeable.

Special abilities

Nyupe can create any weather that she decides and is not limited by environment, though it does help. Ranging from thunder storms and cyclones to earth quakes and avalanches, she is able to create any devastating weather related event she desires, and is still able to be fully immune from any of its affects. No matter how strong the wind she creates is, she will never be harmed by her abilities. She can even create lightning strikes or flash floods to hit any specific targets with pinpoint accuracy while keeping other people safe.

Personal history

Childhood -

Born as the third child to her parents, Nyupe was originally hidden from the rest of her village for the following days of her birth due to her parents surprise and slight fear of her pale skin and hair. She was later discovered to have albinism OCA. After her parents decided to make her birth known, the elders 'sensed' a magic spirit within her. Whether this was by complete luck or if the elders had actual powers themselves is unknown. Due to this spirit harbouring her body, she became the village prophet and was expected to become a godlike figure who would bring the village prosperity. All of this was decided when she was barely a week old. This was the way Nyupe was raised until her death. She was kept under constant surveillance to make sure she was never harmed and never bored, yet was still allowed to play with other children. By the age of five her hearing loss became apparent, and she was temporarily separated from other children by her parents and the elders desperately trying to cure it. Her hearing deteriorated rapidly, leaving her completely deaf by her seventh birthday. Despite this, Nyupe continued her childhood relatively free of worries. Her poor eyesight combined with her lack of hearing however meant she was under even more surveillance than before. It wasn't long after she turned seven that several concerning symptoms began to appear. Certain parts of her skin began to swell, she began to feel sick and tired, and unexplained pain plagued her waking hours. Not even several months later she died. The cause, though unknown of to her and her parents, was advanced skin cancer. Kept in a hibernating state by the gods until she was thirteen, Nyupe was released into the Second Sphere, and formed a close bond with Shen. Shen instructed her on sign language to allow for easy communication, and the two became incredibly close.

Gender Identity

While Nyupe identifies with the female gender, feeling comfortable in what she views feminine, she views gender very differently. Due to her culture, the gender separation between male and female leaves the men with a more active role in society and the women usually tending to the house. Because of her upbringing as a prophet, she hasn't had a chance to fall into either of these roles, and tends not to have a major connection to either the male or female gender. She enjoys dressing feminine and being seen more-or-less as female, thus she choices to identify herself with the female gender. Though whether her gender identity may be closer to the non-binary spectrum or not, she does not care. She merely decided which binary gender was more comfortable, and left it at that, not wanting to trouble herself with the vastly different gender roles and outlooks that came with living in the Second Sphere.

Sexuality

Nyupe is asexual and aromatic. She does not desire any sort of relationship (no matter how fleeting) that is not platonic or familial.

Education

With her first death at the age of seven and her deteriorating physical state before that, she lacks the important education given to young children. She spoke her language with poor grammar, and learned no form of sign language to accommodate her hearing struggles before her first death. Later on, she is taught how to read and write, as well as proper grammar and sign language. This instruction lasts from her at thirteen years old, to several years later at fifteen.

Mental Trauma

Due to her early death as the village's only prophet for a millennia, she is constantly weighed down by guilt and shame due to her inability to save her village from any future dangers. Her early death also meant an early separation from her parents, and she grows to be incredibly clingy and terrified of abandonment, not wanting to have to be taken away from those the loves again.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Her motivation mainly stems from trying to protect and keep others both safe, and close to her. While she will go to extreme lengths to save the rest of her team, the one she cares the most for is Shen, and she will do literally anything to make sure no harm ever reaches them.

Social

Social Aptitude

Nyupe tends to not be as skilled in social situations as Shen is. She's incredibly blunt and tends not to always grasp why people are upset or angry, on the chance they happen to be so. This is due to her having six years of her young life practically gone because of the hibernation she was put into. Because of this, Shen always accompanies Nyupe whenever she desires to go out, as they want to make sure that Nyupe doesn't accidentally ruin some poor workers day.

Speech

While Nyupe is deaf, she is still capable of speech. In fact, her pronunciation and lip reading skills are so, that it took quite a while for anyone to realise she was deaf. She tends to speak rather loudly, due to her boisterous personality. While she used to not swear at all, living with Shen for extended periods of time caused her to swear almost as much as Shen would when they decided to talk. Nyupe has an incredibly high-pitched voice was well, which makes the curse words that she so often says or signs, incredibly jarring.
