Introduction

Maytee - Status : A main character
Maytee is the second elemental welder of the Soldiers, a fire based ability that allows her almost complete control. She's one of the lesser traumatised members of the Soldiers, one of the few with good upbringings, and thus usually makes it her mission to bring laughter to those around her. She's often the cook of the household, and enjoys to mess around and create food that reminds her and others of home. One of her strongest abilities however, is not magic by any means. Maytee has incredibly eyes, and is also very intelligent. She's able to notice even the most subtle details about people, places, or objects, and can then use this knowledge to uncover almost any question she want answered. She can tell if something has been disturbed even the slightest, where she is at almost all times, or what exactly had been standing here even days before. And while it's not entirely accurate, she does have a better grasp on whether someone's being truthful or not.

Personality -

Maytee is by far one of the most extroverted and energetic Soldiers. She's often loud, slightly obnoxious, cheerful, and extraordinarily confident. Her attention is rarely kept in one place, often bouncing from one subject to another, common among those with ADHD. This same rather unpredictable and impulsive manner of thinking is what leads Maytee and how she acts. Never afraid to stand up for herself and others, she has a tendency to put both herself and the friends she's trying to protect in danger. Physically, she's rather weak. Unfortunately, this larger-than-life self image she holds, as well as the belief that "nothing bad will ever happen to her", puts her up against openers she very clearly can't beat. Occasionally, she'll even start fights herself. Perhaps the average person would figure out not to instigate fights that they can't win after some time, yet Maytee's love for good-spirited mischief often gets in the way of her learning these valuable lessons. Despite the perceived lack of care she displays, Maytee still truly loves those close to her, and will -might- back down if they ask her to. Emphasis on the 'might', however. As for the more childish and trouble-making 
Maytee is almost the very definition of an adrenaline junkie. She enjoys parkour, specifically because of the danger involved with it. If she was aware of sports such as bungee-jumping or cliff diving, she'd most likely sign herself up in a heart beat. She rarely plans ahead on her routes nor does she really care about the danger she may face is she doesn't. Though it appears Maytee cares little for her own wellbeing, the same cannot be said for others. While she may get caught up in something or take a joke too far, she will step down and apologise if asked. Her tendency to get carried away is a trait she is very much aware of, and tries to manage as best she can. She can be kind and quiet to those who are overstimulated, and truly wants to help others, even if due to her own pride she gets them or herself in danger more than she helps them.
Though Maytee is usually a happy-go-lucky, carefree person on the outside, the way she feels inside is quite the opposite. Unlike many other Soldiers, Maytee had an incredibly strong bond with her family, and being kept in the Second Sphere away from them forever kills her. Family was and is exceptionally important to her, and her abrupt death without even a chance to say goodbye hurts her more than she ever thought possible. When she becomes upset, the worst of her version of herself takes over. She becomes impulsive and indifferent to the point her actions hurt not just her but can severely injure those she cares about. Struggling between holding on to the friends she made and leaving them all before she gets hurt again, Maytee becomes a villain in her own right. While she eventually gets over the loss of her family and processes the grief in a healthy manner, her poor emotional control and tendency to quickly and completely succumb to her emotions are often shown on full display.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

While Maytee is built on the thinner side, she is void of pretty much any strength or muscle. She is the weakest of all the Soldiers, her only strengths being agility and flexibility. Despite her short height, her proportions don't tend to reflect what is common for shorter people, with more average sized torsos and shorter legs. Instead, the proportions reflect those that tend to be taller, with longer legs and arms. Due to this, she basically looks like an eleven year old child.

Facial Features

Maytee's face is long and angular, coming to a sharp point at the chin with an angular jawline and thin, aquiline nose. Her eyes are rather large, round, and slightly protruding with thin, pointed eyebrows as well.

Identifying Characteristics

Maytee has very few identifying features that are obvious to the naked eye. However, one of which would certainly be her hair. As a result of the explosion, her hair became singed and burnt in many areas. Rather than cutting her hair short to accommodate for this, Maytee merely cut off the charred pieces, leaving for an incredibly choppy and uneven hairstyle.
However, if she were to raise her hair up, it would reveal the nasty scarring that covers the back of her head down to her lower back. This entire swath of her body is incredibly scarred by burns from the explosion and many, many cuts from debris and shrapnel. More so the shrapnel scars than burn scars though. Right at the base of her head, however, is the deepest scar. A roughly 3-4 inch long scar, half an inch wide; the fatal wound she received where a sheet of metal had struck her. This scar, and many of the others along her back are often covered by her hair, are are not often seen.

Special abilities

Maytee's abilities contain the elemental power to control fire. She is the second elemental user on the team, next to Kai. Her abilities include being able to change the height, temperature, and intensity of the fire, as well as increasing its speed to incredibly fast levels to spread more easily, and creating explosions anywhere the fire touches. While this of course can lead the tremendous destruction, she cannot create fire by herself. She must carry with her matches or lighters wherever she goes, as she can't generate fire out of her own hands. This makes her the only Soldier other than Seb who can't use their own body to generate power.
Maytee also has amazing eyesight. She's able to see the farthest out of any one of the Soldiers, recognise patterns the fastest, and recall events from the past the easiest. All of this leads her to be constantly collecting and storing information subconsciously, and she can use this enormous amount of information to figure out almost anything. It's not photographic memory by any means. She can't recall entire conversations, or a whole page of some random book she read a while back. It's more where she'll notice random things. 'The label where this carpet was made says A&M.', 'There's a black hair hanging from that tree over there.', or 'With the amount of turns we've made recently, we are probably heading NorthEast.' While none of these are enough to fully capture her attention, this constant influx of information leaves her to be a valuable and trustworthy asset.

Personal history

Maytee was born to a family of three in the slums. Her family consisted of her mother, father, and older brother. They were incredibly close to each other, forming a strong bond that would last until Maytee's death. When she was younger, her brother and her would spend time with their mother in the kitchen, often helping their mother out with cooking and chores. When Maytee was six and her brother was seven, their parents decided to send both of them to a school run by some of the local adults. The schools were often packed with children, to the point where some children had to bring their own chairs just to have a spot to sit. Maytee's loud and outspoken personality often landed her in trouble with the school headmaster, and upon seeing the amount of money her parents were losing sending her and her brother to school, she realised that only she or her brother would be able to go to school anymore. 
Despite her brother being a year older than her, he was much more timid and quiet than Maytee was, often leading others to assume Maytee was actually the older sibling. She was also incredibly protective over him, making it her job to defend her brother against anyone who dared to mess with him. Knowing that school would probably suit him better than it would her, and not wanting him to throw away his chance to become educated, she left the school at the age of nine and began working for her mothers business. They ran a food stall in the local market, and with Maytee's extra help, they were able to provide more food for their family. She enjoyed this significantly more than school, finding cooking almost therapeutic, and greatly appreciating the time she spent with her mother. 
She helped her mother for seven more years, working every day -except on Saturdays- to help her mother. When she turned sixteen, her parents decided to take her out to the market as a celebration. There would be no cooking that day, they would just look around and buy what Maytee wanted (as long as they could afford it). With her brother tagging along, they spent most of the day there, at the market. Several hours after midday, however, the explosions began. There was first talk of one happening a few cities away, then, another, slightly closer, and another. Not long after the talk spread, it became clear that their lives may all be in danger. Attempting to flee the market, the family got separated, leaving Maytee alone. Desperately trying to look for her mother, afraid she had fallen down and hurt herself, she became caught up in the rush of people, and never got the chance to escape. Several minutes later, the final explosion occurred, it was presumed to have been oil explosions, a group of criminals targeted several cities wanting to send a message of some kind, or at least that was the theory. Struck by a piece of shrapnel at the base of her skull, Maytee's death was quick and painless. Unbeknownst to her, all her family made it out alright, with the exception of her brother, who's leg became infected and needed to be amputated.

Gender Identity

Maytee identifies as female. While she was living with her family she also stuck to the traditional female roles that included cooking, cleaning, et cetera. She had no problem with this and did it all willingly, preferring it from having to get a job. While she embraces both her masculinity and femininity, she identifies as female. That's that.

Sexuality

Maytee is very much a lesbian. She likes girls and non-binary people. She is very gay. As long as they are not a man, she's open to a relationship. Again, very gay.

Education

Maytee never had much education growing up. While she was enrolled in a local school for a few years, she dropped out at the age of nine to support her family. She decided school wasn't for her, though this was rather just something she told herself to ignore the fact that her parents could no longer afford to send both their children to school. She never fully learned how to read or write beyond an elementary level, however she was just fine with this. After she left school, the only eduction she received was counting the ingredients that were needed for certain meals and for reading the recipes for them. 
After she arrived in the Second Sphere, Maytee was taught how to read and write by Aki. This education continued further into learning about how to control her abilities, as well as learning how to fight. The latter of which she was quite poor at.

Employment

After leaving school at a young age, Maytee returned home to help her mother out with the family business, selling food. Specifically, bread based products. Maytee and her mother worked long hours with little sleep, however, it was worth it in their eyes to be able to keep enough money to keep sending Maytee's older brother to school. She then developed a rather incredible skill in the kitchen, becoming an incredibly proficient baker, especially for her age.

Mental Trauma

Despite Maytee's rough upbringing and rather difficult death, she suffers very little trauma from the whole ordeal. The way in which she grew up was relatively common in her neighbourhood, and she vastly preferred working in the kitchen to school, regardless. However, she isn't completely devoid of mental trauma. As a result of her death, a rather violent explosion, Maytee often contracts incredibly vivid dreams and flashbacks to the event. While she doesn't remember enough of the incident for it to fully effect her, she is still aware of roughly what happened and her own feelings for the last few seconds of her life. Since she is not fully aware of what happened that day, her mind enjoys playing tricks on her, and sudden loud noises or the smell of burning wood stresses her out immensely. However, such flashbacks only tend to occur when Maytee is already feeling highly anxious, and thus she can often do her best to avoid triggering situations.

Personality Characteristics

Likes & Dislikes

Maytee loves two things the most: cooking and parkour. While she enjoys the quiet, calm that comes with waiting for your bread to rise or preparing sauce for noodles, she also is incredibly charged by adrenaline. Parkour, jumping between buildings, scaling walls, and doing tricks of bridges, she enjoys all of it. Her eyesight makes it easy to spot any hidden dangers, as well as perfect landing spots. Though, she's not perfect, and often comes home with her arms and legs horribly scratched up.

Vices & Personality flaws

During the time period after she remembered her death, she became incredibly stressed and even depressed. To combat this, she began smoking, under the guise that she already had enough smoke in her lungs from all her fire so it shouldn't really matter if the consumed anymore. This habit continued for about six months, and she was addicted. In the end, Aki helped her to quit smoking, though in stressful times, she will continue smoking again.

Speech

Maytee talks, a lot. When she does, she's often loud and excited, speaking at a million words a minute, and rarely pausing to take a breath. Her grammar, while not fantastic, isn't bad by any means. She also is rare to insult someone, unless she means it as a joke. Even if what one is doing is inherently problematic, she will rarely call them out on it, not wanting to hurt their feelings with insults. Her voice however, does not match her appearance of a short, young, child. It's high-pitched, yes, but also raspy due to smoke inhalation. It can occasionally take on the gravel of a long-time smoker, and her voice has a tendency to surprise those who haven't known her personally.
