Lilithus

A victim of a harsh childhood, the necromancer Lilithus has one driving motivation: to keep herself safe by attaining great power. Lilithus had never met her mother. She grew up with her father, a high elf like herself, to the ripe age of 12. At this age it had become "abundantly clear" that she would never become his successor. She was cast out, "worthless like her mother".   Loviatar, the Maiden of Pain, heard Lilithus' plea for the strength to go on alone. Loviatar's divine presence kept Lilithus safe, but cultivated the seed of evil planted by her father's actions.   While deep in slumber, one particularly sunny afternoon, Lilithus awoke to a loud noise. She quickly donned her battle attire, including her most precious possession: a red leather necklace, strung through one half of a cracked crystal. She believes that this was the only possession left to her by her mother.   As Lilithus opened the door to her home, deep in the swamp, she saw a terrible sight: the Companions of the Noble Heart. Overwhelmed by superior numbers, Lilithus was dealt a decisive blow by the Companion, Adrid.   Lilithus was quite surprised to awaken days later, seemingly unharmed, and more shockingly still alive. Her connection to Loviatar was completely severed.   By some foul magic, Lilithus has been bound to the service of Ilmater and the Companions of the Noble Heart. Under the careful watch of Adrid, she now travels in service of Ilmater, spreading the light of Good. There could surely be no fate more cruel.
