Balasar Norixius

Balasar is a fighter for hire, though he will only take on quest that are righteous in nature. He is not willing take on a quest that he deems evil. He is on quest to make up for his failing in his past. Before this he was a captain in the Dragonborn army of Tymanther. He lived in the city of Djerad Thymar (the Fortress of Thymara, in Draconic). As a member of the Ninth Blue Cohort, composed by warriors specialized in the use of polearms, He fought many skirmishes against the enemies of the Lance Defenders. The Lance Defenders are a specialized military force. Their primary task was to defend Djerad Thymar from dragon attacks.   Balasar is out on his own questing because of an incident during a battle. He lead his platoon into a trap, killing everyone except him.  One afternoon the call of a invasion rallied the Lance Defenders to arms. Grabbing his glaive and rushing to the fight. He saw a group of his fellow brothers attempting to flank the enemy. Balasar saw his opportunity to climb the military ladder and ordered a chunk of his platoon to follow him. They tried to keep up but fell too far behind to see the first group any longer. Pressing forward he eventually did find them. They were talking with the enemy. Balasar was astonished, his commander was there as well. "Commander Arvull!" He shouted drawing the attention of the group to him. Commander Arvull motioned him to join him in the discussions. Confused about what was going on but trusting his commander he fell in line. They discussed overthrowing the Vanquisher, the king of Tymanther. Balasar balked at the notion. Commander Arvull, explained why it needed to be done. But Balasar refused yet again. Commander Arvull then did something Balasar never thought he would do. He ordered the Balasar and his group to death. Before he could react, Balasar felt cold steel in his gut as Commander Arvull looked at him. A pointed gauntlet followed knocking Balasar unconscious. When he awoke his companions were dead. Commander Arvull stood with General Zraroth accusing Balasar of the act of treason. Balasar was too out of it to put it together. He was shackled and brought in the court of Djerad Thymar to stand trial. His actions on the battlefield brought shame to his family and his clan. For this he was banished.   Balasar's only tie back to his family was a piece of stylish cloth that his father gave him, when folded correctly it can be turned into a hat. Hoping one day to return, he knows what he did was right. He vowed to prove his name and headed east to the Sword Coast. Once he had more renown he would travel home. He thinks about his home nightly folding and unfolding that old worn cloth his father threw to him as he was being dragged from the city he fought hard to defend.
