Kobolds
I was walking down the street at night and one of 'em kobold things ambushed me and robbed me. I thought they only lived underground. Weird, must've come from the sewers. - A Goliath reporting to a city guard
Craven and small, Kobolds live in a world of creatures much larger and stronger then themselves. So, to fight and survive, they have a particular penchant for cleverness and trap making.
Physical Traits
Kobolds are small, tailed humanoids that stand between 2 and 3 foot tall. Their appearance is identifiably draconic, featuring scaled skin coloured to their heritage, a draconic maw and reptillian feet. They are usually quite slender, craven, at times even emaciated; imposing is a word never used to describe a Kobold. Sometimes, albeit rarely, Kobolds are born with or grow wings during their lifetime, usually a mark of a greater relationship with the draconian spirits.Society and Culture
Insular Tribes
Kobolds are exclusively born from Chromatic heritage, and hence bear a similar aggression, sadism and thirst for control and power as per their ancestural overlords. Despite their insular nature, Kobolds are fierce teamworkers with a strong bond to one another. Their remarkably industrious nature has made them renouned trap makers, ambushers and miners, making them excelent servants for more grandious villains.Deep Dwellers
Although their origin is unclear, it is known that they were created as servants to dragons, and no other evidence points more towards the fact then their natural sensitivty to sunlight. It is believed that their sensitiy derrives from their need to remain in draconic lairs, outfitting their draconic overlord's homes with defenses and traps to foil cunning adventurers. Even those that don't serve dragons still remain underground in caves, or within sprawling dungeon complexe.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
