Torrden
A holy people
The Torrden are the southern tribe of the mysterious migrators from the Island of Den, known to all others on Deghrom as Thuleos. Hundreds of years ago they settled in west Istros, claiming the great savannah as their own and building their capital city at the foot of the great Dwarven city of Bodhaan. The Torrden Kingdom co exists with the dwarves, accepting them as an institution of the Kingdom. The Torrden are a holy people, in the mysterious cataclysm that froze over the Isle of Den, it is said the greatest priests, the highest loremasters took the most sacred documents with them. In these ancient scrolls hold ancient knowledge, written in the old Dennish language that is now lost to time. What little is can be deciphered from these scrolls state that the Torrden people were kept alive to serve the Gods, to smite evil wherever they find it and maintain the order of light in the world. It is by these tenets that the Torrden live, they venerate the Gods rather than their ancestors and have no tolerance toward heretics. Most Torrden live for the good of their people and their kingdom which has combined church and state into a rigid order of holy priestly knights, paladins and clerical rulers.Character
Names and their culture Torrden first names are traditionally those brought from the original immigrants from Den. Such names are exceptional Dennish such as Tarm, Olaf, Sven, Thorkell, etc... Torrden names are divided between their first given name and the name of their clan. Torrden clans are widespread and heavily propagated for the good of the state which by extension is for the good of the Gods will and order on Deghrom. Torrden who are inducted into the elite holy orders, however, become celibate, renounce their clan names take the title of their God or order, whether they currently have a family or not. Age: Torrden typically live the standard human lifespan of 50-75 years of age. However, it is said that members of the holy orders are blessed with divine life and can live much longer, even hundreds of years. Alignment: Any Torrden that hasn't been exiled or otherwise ostracized from their own society is bound to be good, typically lawful good and neutral good. Size: Medium Speed: Base land speed of 30 feet. Languages: Torrden speak Torrden and are educated in the language of the dwarves due to the cooperation between the two peoples.
