Istrad

1907

Created by

Istrad is a region of metropolitan & suburban cities coupled with towns and villages as well. Its overall architectural design is representative of a gothic, European style. Istrad is home to many and was portrayed to be a bustling state by the 1930’s, however, a long threatening and unknown plague spread across the entire state. The populace now suffer from what is known as the Blood Plague which is a disease that directly effects the person's blood turning it into ‘corrupted blood’. Then, it begins to eat away at the person’s psyche making them them maniacally insane with the possibility that the person will transform into a monstrous beast. The only benefit from the plague is that one can’t get sick by other means like colds, flu, cancer, etc. All humans are subject to be affected by the plague but, there are ways to resist and slow the symptoms. One of the main methods is for the person to become a hunter that hunts the monstrosities roaming throughout Istrad.   People of the Kin, which is believed to be a higher lifeform, were being born during the year 1800 and now inhabit northern parts of Istrad. Since their existence, they had taken a liking in themselves as Kinfolk and began to enslave the human beings. The Kinfolk race include Celestials, Nephilims, Globules & Seers. There was also a rise in other kin lifeforms that gather in specific areas throughout Istrad. These other lifeforms are known to be docile but, at times, they can be extremely hostile in a terrifying fashion because of their large numbers that tend to hone a singular target.   The current year is 1907 and the plague began to spread in 1805 from Yharnam, now known as Forbidden Yharnam. It is common knowledge among the populace that no one should venture to Forbidden Yharnam as people who do so instantly succumb to insanity, losing themselves. Once the plague engulfed all of Istrad, like Yharnam once did, the sun was snuffed out and only the moon shown. Living in Istrad is like living in a nightmare these days. Family & friends are all potentially able to forget one another in a split moment, technology advancement has stifled, the light of day has no meaning, killing & slaughter has become the new norm, and food is scarce though the plague has made it where consuming raw meat of any kind to be of acceptable substance as people can not catch ordinary disease or sickness.   Welcome to Istrad. The state of grand potential that could have become one of the most prominent places to live but now, remembered and quarantined as the bucket of rot and malady.
