The Holly Wars against Humans - around 1200-1100 BC

Ayalis Orki - An alternate Earth reality

Jasmine P. Antwoine

The Humans had spread all over Istari and orki people were weary of them and their ways. All humans did was rampage the earth, wage war and plunder each other. They had pushed orki tribes into seclusion and moved into their lands and homes, desecrating everything they touched.

There was wailing and tearing in the land of Istari and the earth trembled with grief. Istari was ill and had great convulsions and tremors and long coughs of smoke and fire. Bit Kharyz was the leader of the Keles tribe. He had enough of human defiance and decided to clean the earth of their kind.

Bit Kharyz, the leader of the Keles tribe, gathered the nine tribes of the orki and he said to them:

"Our mother, blessed A’Su has given us a sign that Istari is ill and needs deliverance from the plague of the Palahai. Let us battle this evil and get rid of them so we can live in peace again".

All men acclaimed Bit Kharyz for he had spoken their minds. But Lysuma, who was the eldest and wisest of the mothers said:

"A’Su, our beloved mother, does not want us to go to war against the Palahai. Stay your hands and go plow your field and raise your children".

But nobody wanted to hear this advice so they cheered for war and prepared their spears and shields. They went to war and they battled with the humans over land and sea. And the Palahai died with thousands and their towns and empires were destroyed. But A’Su stopped the orki warriors at the borders of Kemet (Egypt)so they came home.

A few seasons passed and Istari became ill of the human plague again. This time a great drought and famine ravished its lands and the orki tribes gathered together again and planned for invasion. Bit Kharyz said to them:

"Our mother, blessed A’Su has given us a sign again and we need to listen to her commands. She wants us to go and throw the Palahai back into the darkness from which they came and clean Istari of their kind".

But Lysuma climbed the hill where Bit Kharyz sat and addressed her people:

"My dear brothers and sisters, let’s not angry the Goddess with cruel talk. Instead, we may help the Palahai in their hour of need and live in peace with them".

Again, nobody listened to the wise old woman. They looked at Bit Kharyz and cheered and again they prepared their swords and shields and went to war against human tribes. So great was the destruction that the lands became bare for many years after. A’Su saw what her children did, for she could hear wailing and cries from the Palahai and she became angry. She stopped orki warriors in Kemet and sent them home again to Istari.

Seasons passed and many human tribes began to wander in Istari and many people had to move homes to escape their plunder. Bit Kharyz summoned the tribes again and spoke to them:

"Children of A’Su, hear me. Our mother has no power over the Palahai and she is weary of their kind. We have to destroy them one and for all so we may rejoice in harmony in our beloved Istari". Once again, Lysuma, who can barely walk and talk because of her old age, came in front of them and said:

"Do not listen to the hatred words of Bit Kharyz for he is wrong again. Our mother wants us to live our lives in peace and not at war with the Palahai. Let’s not make her angry again but bless her with our obedience, as all children should do".

A third time the tribes did not hear Lysuma’s wise words. Again they prepared for war and did so with joy and pride. They polished their weapons and shields and once again left for battle over the seas. A’Su saw them and felt wounded. She helped the people of Kemet to defend themselves and so orki suffered a great loss. Many did not come back from this horrid battle.

But A’Su was still angry and hurt so much at the betrayal of her children. She punished and cursed them to lose their homes and lands and be hunted like animals for hundreds and hundreds of years until forgiveness will come.
