Davouccin Tower

Founded before the Empire was established and renovated shortly afterwards, Davouccin tower is home to a number of scholarly resources, most notable of which is the large observatory mounted at the top of the domed tower. Within, a wide range of biological and geological specimens are stored, and housed in the basement is a range of high tech equipment to for use in study. Guided tours are available, but the primary use lies in study, not tourism.   The tower is owned by Galt City University and sits on their primary campus. Students of second year or higher are permitted in the tower under supervision of an instructor, and students with four years experience working in the tower and a good track record are given the code to access it by themselves during working hours. Only staff are permitted to access it during off hours. In addition, there are also a handful of dedicated staff members who practically call the tower home, spending most of their time tending to and caring for the tower.   The tower is named after Davoucci , the Plurimi of Skill, the patron of scholars and learners, among others. It is situated across the street from a temple to Davoucci, and it is not an infrequent sight to see students visiting the temple before entering the tower, often praying for guidance in their studies or offering thanks for the facilities, especially on an important visit.   An imposing silhouette against Galt's skyline, Davouccin Tower can be seen from every point in downtown. Rounded at the top, with squared sides, and an adjacent greenhouse, the structure reaches 888 feet in height, designed to do so by way of a nod to the number 8 being associated with the Plurimi Davoucci.
