The watchers

Tools and Subgroups The Watchers use several tools to hunt down mages, a few of the main ones are Ravensteel weapons however very few people have access to pure Ravensteel blades and instead an alloy is used which lessens the power that the weapon might have but makes them less expensive. Other pieces of equipment are mantels of spell resistance which the user has to activate. A surprising addition to the Watchers arsenal are spell scrolls that have been purified and found on dead mages or created by those that are loyal to the Watchers.  Many of them also have psionic abilities and those that do are called inquisitors and are split into three orders, Mind Fire, Psi Warrior and Summoner. Mind Fire is a weapon these inquisitors use and it allows them to burn their enemies and break into their minds with psionic powers. It is also the name of the ritual they must go through. Summoners use their power to summon large creatures and are both shunned and used often when dealing with liches and other spellcasters that have a large number of servants. Finally, Psi Warriors are foot soldiers. Another subgroup are the Seraphs. They are blessed or part angel often blessed by the Council of 7 giving them angelic traits and are usually the commanders of any post given as they are great fighters. However, these factions don't make up the bulk of the Watchers which are veterans, knights and guards.   The Council of 7 These are the leaders of the Watchers and are deeply mysterious and there are only a few things known about them one is that they are Arcseraphs of individual power rivalling angels. For centuries they have rested in the headquarters of the Watchers. An impregnable castle that even stood the tide of demons.

Structure

They have the same ranks as an army but only up to a general.

Culture

There are two factions in the Watchers the moderates and the fanatics. The Moderates are more choosy about what Magic-Users are evil and don't kill every one of sight and they are a large minority since most are calm collected and can see the wisdom of having allies however they are rare to find as many don't know that they exist. On the other side of the spectrum are the fanatics which is the organization the Flame Clan fears. They are the ones that have dozens of mages burned they are either bullies or just very devoted.

Public Agenda

The Watchers want to kill all arcane magic users.

Assets

The Watchers exists in many places all across the Savage North with their headquarters in Isildur being located in the Autumn Land. They are also the patrons of the Frostsheild Clan however they also have immense power across Isildur with holdings across the four courts. They have around 70000 followers across Isildur and their holding exceed over 3 million gold pieces.

History

The Watchers are an old organization. It was created after the Fall of the Gods by seven angels how claimed they had stayed behind to fight the Eldar Evils and that was what they did and they were some of the last resistance that was tried. But as time went on the Watchers became the enemy of all mages. Throughout history, they have slain countless evil mages and some members of the order can ally with good-natured spellcasters. As the centuries progressed the Watchers would fall to the cults of the Elder Evils and once they even fell for 800 years however they have always returned. And each time they returned their views on mages became more draconian. Then the Demon Invasion came and it did not matter whether you were a mage or not. For the order, their castle was a few hundred miles behind enemy lines and after the demons were sealed away the Watchers vanished for 80 years returning in full force now and have since become the patrons of many kingdoms. In the Winter Land, the Watchers were instrumental in their defeat of Odera and finally, they caused the War of Fire.
